October 1, 2020

Thank you for sharing your time with me. It’s an honor. I hope my celebrations will soon become yours!

Yesterday I received the very first package in the mail of merchandise for my website. I can’t even explain what a powerful moment that was for me. I’m venturing into waters fairly unknown. While sometimes intimidating, it’s hard to explain the thrill of starting to truly awaken and embrace your life purpose. I’ve taken many roads in this lifetime: trading deck assistant, ice cream scooper, nanny, product development specialist, project manager, digital marketing consultant, engagement ring designer. Of all the hats I’ve worn, none has been more rewarding than Tarot Card Reader. Sharing this type of vulnerability and intimacy with a stranger has an energetic vibration all its own. Tarot Cards remind us of who we once were and who we’re meant to be…as we awaken from the dream and turn back to the truth: love.

As I switch careers yet again due to the rapid changes of 2020, I hope it inspires you to do the same. When I stop clinging to what I knew and dropped into the abyss of the unknown that is when the magic started to happen. You are a magical unicorn of a being and your only job in this lifetime is to love and be loved. Hope you are finding ways to make that happen each and every day.

P.S. The deck I chose this month was from yesterday’s very first package delivery: The Luminous Void by Laura Zuzpan. This will be available on the site. We launch at the end of October, early November!

Three of Wands

Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 20) – Three of Wands

Capricorn, is it just me or are you glowing?! It must be that you are starting to hit your stride, this time with integrity, honesty and authenticity. Not that you weren’t a superstar already, it has more to do with your life purpose. You could easily climb to the top of every mountain, but do you want to? Do you need to? It can be lonely at the top. You are starting to break free from the chains of isolation and connect on a deeper level with your soul group. This will be the watering can for your seeds of growth. Instead of your eye on the prize you are starting to slow down and recognize the beauty that surrounds you, right here, right now.  This month I encourage you to find a penpal. That’s right! We’re going old school. Break out the stickers and the smelly markers, it’s time to make someone’s day. Many don’t know this about you, but you are incredibly creative. I think this will be an excellent outlet for you. It’s yet another way for you to broaden your coven and let others into your life.

The Hierophant

Aquarius (Jan 21-Feb 19) – The Hierophant

Aquarius you are the most fascinating of the sun signs in your ability to transform. Although an air sign, you are represented by the water bearer. Water in itself is a study in the mystical properties of this world. It can present itself as a liquid, a solid or a gas. It can move and shape our world with its strong currents or icy mountains. I encourage you to do a water study of your own this month, but this time examining the river that flows through your soul. Is it clean? Fast? Does it drench you in an emotional hurricane? Is a soothing, babbling brook that lulls you to sleep with its lullaby? As you examine the deep, dark waters remember you don’t have to go into the depths alone. The Hierophant is always a well of profound knowledge, but usually indicates a mentor’s ability to illuminate concepts you might have otherwise missed. Who in your life is your teacher? What do you have to learn?

Three of Swords - The Luminous Void

The King of Swords

Pisces (Feb 20-Mar 20) – King of Swords

According to Laura Zuspan, the creator of this beautiful deck, this card represents “a full embodiment of intellect, insight and wit in the divine masculine.” I love this explanation! However I think our perception of the divine masculine has been bastardized over time. This powerful energy is about protection, honor, respect and love. Does it have a much more direct path than the feminine? Absolutely. However, somewhere along the line this directness or forward momentum turned into winning no matter what the cost. Wit turned into snarky, condescending remarks to keep others small. Insight turned into boastfulness when the ego took over. This month I want you to step full into your divine masculine energy in the element of Air, but before you do, take a moment to reflect on exactly what that means. How do you wish to show up in the world?

Eight of Cups

Aries (Mar 21-Apr 19) – Eight of Cups

Something I really admire about you Aries is your loyalty to those you hold dear. However, when does loyalty turn into self-sabotage? When does holding on act in your detriment? 2020 has been a full blown spiritual shakedown, forcing us all to look at our shadows and own our truths. It’s been a heavy push into the light and we’re witnessing a massive global psychic shift. Many of us, although afraid, are embracing this momentous time with open arms. Unfortunately, many of us, very afraid, are digging in our heels and refusing to budge. Have you outgrown a friend? However painful this parting might be, I highly suggest a clean break. You cannot save anyone who doesn’t want to be saved. You can only save yourself. It behooves you to start creating a new, broader circle of soul sisters. Surround yourself with others who not only recognize your brilliance but aren’t intimidated by its light. In fact, they truly understand that the brighter you shine, the more they do as well.

Taurus (Apr 20-May 20) – Judgement

In almost every one of my personal tarot card readings I’m watching the cards from the Major Arcana pop out in droves. This signifies huge transformation and spiritual development. No one on the planet has been immune to the giant energetic shifts. The Judgement card always shows up when it’s time to make decisions. We use judgement everyday: in our drive home, in the way we pick fruit in the market, in the way we choose what clothes to wear to keep ourselves warm. Judgement becomes dangerous when we use it to vilify others or take their inventory. While your resentment or anger may be justified, you still don’t know what it’s like to walk in someone else’s shoes. If someone offends you, take a moment to pause and breathe. Step away from your reptilian brain and into a place of compassion. Why would they say that to me? Is it true? Does it belong to me? Or is it simply a reflection of how they feel about themselves right now? Move away from the place of snap judgements into the watery depths of heart centered connections. You’ll be a lot happier here.

The World

Gemini (May 21-Jun 21) – The World

Gemini you almost always speak the truth and it can often get you into trouble. Your bluntness and raw honesty can sometimes rub people the wrong way. The World is your pull for October. As you offer a happy dance for this symbol of completion, make sure to pull others up onto the dance floor. A perfect metaphor for how to best play with the energies this month. Instead of opening your mouth to offer a quick retort, what would it look like if you dropped into your heart center instead? While what you have to say is true and possibly important, try asking yourself these questions before you speak up: Does it need to be said? Does it need to be said by me? Does it need to be said right now? If the answer is ‘no’ to any of these questions perhaps a simple nod or smile will do. Not everyone wants advice on how to fix something. Often, we all just want a place where we can open up and talk freely, without judgement or feedback. Practice this principle this month as you enjoy the bounty of emotional contentment. As your cup runneth over, be sure to spread the good vibes.

Ace of Wands

Cancer (Jun 22-July 23) – Ace of Wands

I’ve always had a special affinity for the ace of wands. The Wands are the cards of fire. It’s where passion, creativity, and spirituality play. It often highlights our talents or tries to wake up our Shadow Side where dreams run free. The Ace of Wands is the card of enterprise and new beginnings. Like a firefly on a cool summer night, as it crosses the field to meet your gaze the glow gets brighter with each glance in its direction. I have a feeling that October is going to be a time of tiny sparks everywhere. You are at your best when you are creative and you’re surrounded by those you love. If you already own a business I think this will be a very successful time for you. Not a business owner? I believe there may be a new beginning in another department. Could it be a new art project? New craft? New ideology? This beautiful card offers us expansive space to dream, create and explore. I encourage you to jump in. You never know what’s around the next corner.

Page of Cups

Leo (Jul 24 – Aug 23) – Page of Cups

So much to learn Leo and so little time! I have a deep fondness for your strong lion’s roar, however not many know the sensitive empath that lies beneath. The Page of Cups signifies a time of profound spiritual and emotional healing. It can leave you feeling a bit exposed, perhaps like a snail that’s in between homes. As you show up and do this work be sure to put just as much emphasis on protection and self-care. I envision you in a bathtub filled with so many bubbles it brings back fun childhood memories. I can imagine you reconnecting with a long-lost passion such as watercolor painting this month. I also predict that you’ll indulge in a little romance, even if that means courting yourself. This is not a time to take the stage and share your wisdom, but a time to retreat and rest. Remember, rest is a verb.

Five of Wands

Virgo (Aug 24-Sep 22) – Five of Wands

I’m not sure if anyone has had a tougher year than you dear Virgo. You thrive in an environment where there is order and thoughtful planning. The chaotic and life altering events of 2020 have you spinning out into a place of dark thinking. Get out of your head! It’s a dangerous place right now. You are feeling lost, scattered and out of control. Well maybe, just maybe, it’s time to stop focusing on your career or how you show up in the world, but it’s time to shift over to how you feel. Stop dreading up anxiety from the past or living in the fear of the future. Instead drop into the now. How could you accomplish this? Try anything tactile. Buy yourself roses and take a big whiff. No really, pause a little longer. Close your eyes and really take in that beautiful, sweet scent. What emotion does that bring up for you? Where do you feel it in your body? Try this small and simple practice with everything you do during the day. As you find yourself daydreaming, or should we say daymaring, while doing the dishes try catching yourself. Refocus on the hot soapy suds on your hands, the warm spray of the facet and the clink of the dishes. Your only job this month is to be. Just be.

Eight of Swords

Libra (Sep 23-Oct 22) – Eight of Swords

The Eight of Swords is not often a welcomed card from the tarot as it signifies a sense of powerlessness and feeling trapped. Whenever I give a reading and discover a warning from the Divine, I actually appreciate the wise advice. Tarot cards are not often used for divination, but instead for illumination. They offer a mirror to the parts of self that are usually impossible to see all by ourselves. What has you feeling stuck dear Libra? What is holding you back? I know you like to color outside the lines. What’s stopping you? I think there is a need to dive a little deeper into the subconscious and see what lurks in those murky waters. Did you know that the subconscious mind controls 95% of our brain? I think you’ll find some old wounds that haven’t fully healed or some old stories that need to be dissolved. Let go of the false beliefs and dismantle the mirage that you need to show up in a certain way in this world. There truly is nothing stopping you. All you need to do is spread your wings and fly.

Nine of Wands

Scorpio (Oct 23-Nov 22) – Nine of Wands

Hang in there Scorpio! There is light at the end of the tunnel. You have been doing an incredible job at navigating the obstacle course of life we’re experiencing these days. The Nine of Wands always indicates the final stretch. Wands are the card of fire: passion, creativity and spirituality. Nines are symbolic of karma, spiritual development and humanitarism. One of the most powerful cards in this suit, in my humble opinion, the nine of wands appears when the Angels want to pull you into your power. In case you didn’t know it Scorpio, you are a Lightworker. A fancy term for someone who brings more light into the world with their gifts. You have been through some tough times in your life…all that have brought you to this moment. Your pain is now someone else’s treasure as you offer wisdom and solace that only experience can bring. If you are already a Healer, kudos. You are on the right path. If you are not in this arena perhaps it’s the time to get curious. What vibrations do you pick up faster than anyone else? When you get extremely quiet do you ever hear another voice? Do you dream in vivid colors? The Divine Intelligence is ready and waiting to speak to you. All you have to do is welcome this magic into your life.

Seven of Discs

Sagittarius (Nov 23-Dec 20) – Seven of Discs

The only thing to fear is fear itself. A kind reminder Sag as this month I’ve pulled the seven of discs for you. It usually indicates anxiety about your work performance and a fear of the uncertainty of the future. I love this card as it’s a beautiful place to explore the ideas around perception. We really do get to choose our own reality. It’s the emotional painting of our own making. What if you looked towards the future with wonder and curiosity? Remember when you were a kid and you loved learning new things? We went out into the world with a natural inclination towards questioning everything and asking “Why?!” Additionally, could you stop all the compare and despair and take time out to break out the measuring stick? Let’s instead concentrate on how far you’ve come! What were you doing a year ago at this time? Five years ago? A final reminder coming to you from Source: when you look at your accomplishments they aren’t always about monetary gains.
