The Devil often gets a bad rap. It’s often referred to the card of obsession and destructive behavior. I took another glance at this major player in the minor arcana as one tarot deck creator referred to him as “naughty fun.” The light side of the devil is our fun rebellious teenage sneaking out to see a rock concert. It’s the part of our soul that is thrill seeking, spontaneous and gives absolutlely no effs. So while it’s always good to use The Devil energy conservatively, life would be boring without the devil. He gives us edge. He helps us shake out passion that’s long been dormant. It’s our job to recognize when he’s no longer a fun partern in crime and is starting to run the show.

Magical Discoveries

Unfortunately half of this card was cut off. What you are missing are the evil twins at the devil’s feet, locked to his altar with chains. Some say it’s a reference to the absurdity of Adam and Eve. Should it be such a sin to be human? Don’t we all have wants and needs?
