Based upon the Rider-Waite deck and published in 1979, The Morgan Greer Deck is like your long lost groovy friend from the 70s here to say hello. The iconography is very similar to the Rider-Waite deck but has a more joyful, buoyant tone.

This 78-card tarot deck and tiny guide pamphlet are a classic. This is a must-have for any serious tarot card collector. Not only did Bill Greer study Rider-Waite, but the work of Paul Case. He has incorporated much of the ideologies of these esoteric scholars into the deck, most notably with the use of color to covey important symbology.

Greer offers us this "For as long as I can remember I've been interested in the Tarot, first responding to the visual richness as many artists have. I've also been interested in metaphysics - the occult, magic and psychic phenomena - as well as in the writings of Jung, Frazer, Frye and Campbell, who were of considerable influence as I began to identify archetypes and how thy are part of our everyday life."

Why we love this product!

I was lucky enough to be in a shop in downtown Boulder when a women walked in to sell her wares. Her mother had once owned a metaphysical store and she had found boxes of tarot cards in her attic. Would we like to buy them? I immediately jumped at the chance and I was lucky enough to pick up an original copy of this deck! I find it extremely kismet as I was born in 1979, the year this deck was published. We have a special connection. One of my favorite cards in the deck has to be The Devil. Take a look and you'll immediately know why! Such a fascinating depiction!
