The Wild Unknown Tarot

First published in 2012, The Wild Unknown Tarot is a soulful, animal-led deck that has become a modern classic. Created by artist and musician Kim Krans, it strips the traditional tarot world down to its wildest essentials — no humans, only creatures, plants, and the elemental forces that move between them.

Every card is rendered in delicate ink line work and luminous watercolor, with color itself doing much of the storytelling. If you're a visual reader, this deck speaks your language. The court cards are reimagined as Daughter, Son, Mother, and Father, lending the family of each suit a more intuitive, elemental feel. This is the deck our founder Jackie learned to read on — she picked up the original indie edition the same year she got sober, in 2012, and it has been a steady companion ever since. A gentle, honest teacher for anyone beginning their tarot path or returning to it with fresh eyes.
