Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom by Rachel Pollack is a masterpiece. Originally printed in 1980, this is book is just as relevant as it was then as Rachel is a mystic ahead of her time. This new addition of the tarot classic includes the subtitle, A Tarot Journey to Self-Awareness. An easy and fun read, Rachel dives into the esoteric meaning behind each card offering us a deeper understand of the symbolism hidden within the deck. Considered the "bible of tarot card readers," this book includes information about tarot history, tarot card spreads and ways in which the tarot can change our lives.

Rachel writes, "When I first wrote [this book], I had no thought that it might stay in print this long or touch so many people's lives. I simply had the sense that there was something to say about the Tarot, a subject I loved, and that this particular approach had not been done before, at least not in this way. The response from so many people who have shared what it has meant to them, not just in their understanding of the Tarot, but in their very lives, has been an incredible gift."

This will be a reference manual that you refer to time and time again, picking up new information with each glance. Ms. Pollack packs so much information into this tome that it's advised to go slow and let yourself digest the wisdom of this tarot prodigy. She is so generous with her knowledge and helps us expand our awareness not only of the tarot, but of ourselves.

This book was gifted to me by my “Boulder Mom,” Catherine a few years back for Christmas. Little did she know it would radically change my life. Picking up this book was a turning point in my study of the tarot. Up until that point I dabbled and this book lit a passion I didn’t know I had for this medium. Fast forward to today where I give readings professionally for people around the country. Pinching myself. And much of the knowledge I share about the cards was given to me by Rachel. She is so generous with her wisdom. This book is a MUST HAVE if you are a tarot card reader.
